Privacy Policy for KioskView

Overview

KioskView is a fullscreen kiosk browser for iPad. It is designed with privacy in mind — the app itself collects no data and makes no network requests on its own behalf.

Data Collection

• Does not collect any personal information
• Does not collect any usage analytics
• Does not collect any crash reports
• Does not require account creation or login
• Does not use any advertising networks

Data Storage

KioskView stores your settings locally on your device only using UserDefaults. This includes:

• The start URL you entered
• The URL filter pattern you configured
• Whether location sharing is enabled

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted over the internet.

Location Data

KioskView includes an optional location sharing feature that is off by default.

• Location access is only requested when you explicitly enable it in the setup screen
• When enabled, your device's location is provided to the website you are browsing, so that the website's location-based features can function
• Location data is not collected, stored, or transmitted by KioskView itself
• KioskView acts only as a bridge between the device's location services and the website's JavaScript
• When location is disabled (the default), no location access occurs at all

Web Content

KioskView loads websites chosen by you, the user. Regarding web content:

• The app makes no network requests on its own — all network activity comes from the websites you choose to load
• Websites you visit may have their own data collection practices, cookies, and tracking — those are governed by each website's own privacy policy
• KioskView does not inject any tracking or analytics into the websites you browse

Third-Party Services

KioskView does not integrate with any third-party services:

• No analytics services
• No advertising networks
• No crash reporting services
• No cloud storage providers
• No social media integrations

Children's Privacy

KioskView itself collects no data, but because it can load arbitrary web content chosen by the user, parental guidance is recommended.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and notify users through an app update.
